Hey, thanks for checking out my blog. Let me tell you a little bit about me and why I’m starting this.
I moved to Austin in 1994, the day after I graduated from high school in Bedford, Texas. I could not wait to spread my wings. I was a creative, independent spirit and I knew that my people were in Austin. I love this town so much; the weird, the music, the friendliness, the energy and the outdoors. I could go on all day, but chances are you live here too and you love this town for some of the same reasons.
Another thing I’m really passionate about is interior design and architecture. When I was in college, trying to choose a major, I found the interior design program at Texas State. I was so excited to discover something that was a “real job” as my dad would say, but was also creative. I started working for a design firm here in town, and I knew it was for me.
Fast forward almost 20 years and here we are. I’ve lived in London and Chicago, but Austin always called me home. This town has changed so much since the 90’s, but it is still such an amazing place to be. I love to go to the old bars and restaurants that I’ve been going to since the 90’s, but I also love so many of the new places too. Nowadays, we have endless possibilities for delicious food, which also happens to be a passion of mine. There are so many places to have cocktails, shop with friends or just enjoy being alive in Austin, Texas. The sleepy little town I fell in love with is now a booming metropolis, and I’m here for it.
I’ll be documenting anything that catches my eye regarding architecture, interior design, product design and any other cool details that I come across in my adventures about town. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I’m enjoying documenting it.
